Ladies and Gentlemen, the long awaited and probably the worst kept secret ever, none other than the Google Nexus 5 is now officially announced.
It was rumored that October 31st is the day when Nexus 5 will see the day light – and just like most of the time – the rumor was true. Google Nexus 5 is the first smartphone to run the latest version of Android known as Android 4.4 KitKat.
Along with Android 4.4, the Nexus 5 features a 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB RAM, 5-inches (4.95″) display with 1920×1080 pixels (445ppi) and Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3, 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera with a rear 8-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization, Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, NFC, dual-microphones, SlimPort, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
And as we told you just few days ago, Nexus 5 also comes in white color and it will be available in both 16GB and 32GB version, and will cost $349 and $399 respectively.
Calling the Nexus 5 the best ‘Nexus’ to date wouldn’t be wrong, and it is available for purchase now. I must say that Google is following Apple’s footstep, as the new iPhone is available right after its launch. Nexus 5 will be a big challenge for not just iPhone and Nokia Lumia series, but also for Android phones i.e. LG G2, HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S4 etc. Its biggest selling point is Android 4.4, plus it is a Google device and we all know that they get the updates before any other Android device even hears about it.
I am thinking to add the Nexus 5 to my wishlist, are you? Tell me what you think in the comment box below.
